Now listen to what nearly takes my breath away from me and lets me nearly drop dead.

After living here all these years I, as a good citizen, never got into any trouble. Now I hear that I am now more a British subject unless I register. I have lived here over 30 years. I came here with a British passport. At home before I came here, I lived British, slept British, walked British, went to school to learn to read and write all about England, the great country. I am retired now and I find I must go and buy my stay. If I want to live here I will have to go and register to be British. Someting is wrong here, or people have become heartless. Is it fair to us? We who have lived here all these years, helped clean up the place and put Britain back on its feet? No, it is an insult to us and it is only black people this treatment is handed out to. All I can say is that black people are here to stay and the Government of this country can start getting used to living with us.
