Gatehouse published this book to recognise and make public the long-term pain and distress heaped onto those who survive child sexual abuse.

“I enjoyed going to college, meeting people and I started to open up. We started a women’s group, we talked about thing the things that were going on around us and things that had happened to us. This was the first time I started to write about it. I could not talk about it, the words would not come out when I opened my mouth, I would just cry. So I put how I was feeling down in writing and showed it to Jane.”
